Trozo refers to an irregular piece broken or cut from a larger whole — a chunk of bread, a fragment of rock, a slice of time. It is less formal than fragmento and more general than rebanada (a sliced piece). Unlike pedazo, which can feel slightly more forceful, trozo is neutral and very common in everyday speech.
