Trabado is the past participle of trabar used as an adjective, meaning entangled, stuck, or hindered. In linguistics, a sílaba trabada is a closed syllable (ending in a consonant). In everyday speech it describes something physically jammed (la puerta está trabada, 'the door is stuck') or a person who is tongue-tied.
