Also means
change (of situation)
Usage Note
Torna is most commonly encountered in the fixed expression las tornas han cambiado or se han vuelto las tornas ('the tables have turned'), where it is almost always plural tornas. As a standalone noun meaning a 'turn' or 'return' it is dated and regional. The verb tornar ('to turn, to return') is the etymological root but is itself archaic in everyday speech, replaced by volver.
Examples
"Se han vuelto las tornas y ahora gana él."
Natural Translation
The tables have turned and now he is winning.
