Usage Note

Terapia covers any form of therapeutic treatment — physical, psychological, or occupational. Ir a terapia colloquially means seeing a psychologist or therapist. Compound forms are common: terapia ocupacional (occupational therapy), terapia de pareja (couples therapy). The practitioner is a terapeuta (invariable gender ending).
