Sustentable is the Latin American Spanish preference for 'sustainable' (desarrollo sustentable — 'sustainable development'); Spain more often uses sostenible. Both are standard and mutually understood. The word is common in environmental policy and business contexts. It does not change for gender: el turismo sustentable / la agricultura sustentable.
