Usage Note
Sucesor refers to the person who follows another in a position or role. The feminine form is sucesora. It is used in political, business, and royal contexts (el sucesor al trono). Do not confuse with suceso, which means 'event' or 'incident', not 'success' (a common false-friend error for English speakers).
Examples
"El rey nombró a su sucesor."
Natural Translation
The king named his successor.
