Usage Note
Solamente is a slightly more emphatic, formal variant of solo (only). Both are interchangeable in most contexts, but solamente is preferred in writing for clarity. Note that solo without an accent is now standard for the adverb in modern Spanish (the RAE dropped the required accent in 2010), so solo and solamente are the current correct forms.
