Usage Note
Sobredimensionado describes something made, built, or staffed at a scale that exceeds actual needs — commonly heard in criticism of public infrastructure, company departments, or projects (un presupuesto sobredimensionado, 'a bloated budget'). It is formed from sobre- ('over-') + dimensionar ('to size/dimension'). The opposite is infradimensionado ('undersized').
