adjective seen-goo-LAHR Rare

Origin: From Latin 'singularis' (alone of its kind).

Usage Note

Singular means both the grammatical singular number and 'remarkable, unique' in a literary register (un talento singular = a singular talent). Unlike most adjectives it does not change for gender: un caso singular, una persona singular. In grammar class it contrasts directly with plural.
