sinfín

endless number

noun seen-FEEN Rare

Also means

infinite amount

Usage Note

Sinfín is always masculine and is used with de followed by a plural noun: un sinfín de problemas ('an endless string of problems'). It is a lexicalised compound of sin (without) + fin (end). Unlike infinidad, which can be more statistical, sinfín tends to emphasise tedious or overwhelming repetition. It does not vary in the plural.

Examples

"Hay un sinfín de posibilidades."

Natural Translation

There are an endless number of possibilities.
