Also means
supporter
Usage Note
Simpatizante is a common-gender noun — el/la simpatizante — and describes someone who sympathises with a cause, party, or movement without being a full member. It is frequently used in political journalism to distinguish ordinary supporters from card-carrying members (militantes or afiliados). The root verb simpatizar con ('to sympathise with, to get along with') carries a warmer, more social tone than the English 'sympathise'.
Examples
"Muchos simpatizantes acudieron al mitin del partido."
Natural Translation
Many sympathisers attended the party rally.
