Revertir is a stem-changing verb (e→ie in the present, e→i in the preterite — like sentir: revierto, revirtió). It means to return to a previous state or owner (la finca revertió al Estado) or, in finance and law, for something to revert. A common collocation is revertir en — to result in or benefit (los beneficios revierten en la comunidad).
