Usage Note

Resuelto is the irregular past participle of resolver (to solve, to resolve) and functions as an adjective with two distinct senses: describing a determined or decisive person (es una mujer resuelta = she is a resolute woman) and describing a problem that has been solved (el problema está resuelto). The RAE recognizes only resuelto as the valid past participle.
