Usage Note
Resto means 'the rest' or 'the remainder' (el resto del día = the rest of the day). In mathematics it is the term for a remainder in division. The plural restos means 'remains' or 'leftovers', including archaeological remains (restos romanos) and food scraps. Do not confuse with the verb restar (to subtract, to remain).
