Responsabilidad is a long but very common noun in formal and civic contexts. The adjective form is responsable, and the verb is responsabilizarse de (to take responsibility for). Unlike the English 'responsible,' the adjective responsable does not change for gender: un hombre responsable / una mujer responsable.
