Relevista is a common-gender noun (same form for male and female): el relevista, la relevista. In athletics it refers to a runner who competes in relay races (carreras de relevos). In baseball, especially in Latin America, it denotes a relief pitcher who enters to replace the starting pitcher mid-game.
