Usage Note

Relativamente softens an absolute claim by introducing an implicit comparison: es relativamente barato ('it is relatively cheap'). It is formed from relativo + -mente. In casual speech bastante (quite/fairly) is more frequent, but relativamente is preferred in formal or academic writing.
