Usage Note

Redacción has two principal meanings: the act or skill of writing/drafting (la redacción de un informe = 'the drafting of a report'; a school redacción is a written composition), and the physical or collective editorial office of a newspaper or magazine (la redacción del periódico = 'the newspaper's newsroom'). The verb is redactar ('to write, to draft'). The profession is redactor/redactora ('editor, writer, sub-editor').
