Usage Note
Recomendación is used both for a personal endorsement (carta de recomendación = 'letter of recommendation') and a piece of advice or suggestion (la recomendación del médico = 'the doctor's advice'). The verb is recomendar, which is a stem-changing verb (recomienda, not recomenda).
