Receptor covers both the person who receives something (el receptor de un trasplante, 'transplant recipient') and a technical device that receives a signal (receptor de radio, radio receiver). In biology it refers to a cell receptor. The feminine receptora is used for people; for devices the masculine is standard. The verb is recibir (to receive).
