Puntuación covers two main senses: a score or mark (in sports, exams, or games) and the system of punctuation marks in writing. Context disambiguates easily — 'la puntuación del examen' is the exam score, while 'signos de puntuación' are punctuation marks. The verb is puntuar (to score / to punctuate). Note: puntuación is not used for musical notation, which is notación.
