Propuesta is the noun from proponer — it means a formal proposal or suggestion. Hacer una propuesta ('to make a proposal') is standard in business, politics, and planning. In colloquial speech, propuesta can also describe an informal suggestion. The past participle propuesto is the adjectival form.
