Usage Note

Pronosticar is the standard verb for forecasting weather, sports outcomes, or economic trends. The noun derived from it is pronóstico, which you'll see on weather apps (pronóstico del tiempo). It is slightly more formal than predecir and is the default term in meteorological and sports reporting.
