Usage Note

Predecir is an irregular verb that follows the same conjugation pattern as decir — including the irregular yo-present predigo and the preterite predije. The gerund is prediciendo and the past participle is predicho. It is formal in register and often appears in scientific or journalistic contexts; in everyday speech learners might prefer pronosticar.
