Usage Note

Pasear means to walk leisurely or go for an outing. Used transitively it means to take someone or an animal for a walk: pasear al perro ('to walk the dog'). The reflexive pasearse adds a sense of unhurried wandering. The noun paseo means both a stroll and a promenade or boulevard; dar un paseo ('to go for a walk') is the standard phrase.
