Paseante is someone who is strolling or walking leisurely; it can be a temporary noun (los paseantes del parque — the park strollers) or a semi-permanent description. It is common gender — el paseante, la paseante. It appears in the literary phrase un paseante en corte (an idle wanderer), which has historical resonance in Madrid.
