parcialmente

partially, partly

adverb pahr-syahl-MEN-teh Less Common

Usage Note

Parcialmente is formed regularly from the adjective parcial + -mente. It means 'not entirely' and collocates naturally with verbs like cubrir, resolver, or financiarel proyecto está parcialmente financiado (the project is partially funded). Do not confuse parcial with 'partial' in the biased sense; for bias, Spanish also uses parcial but the context must make it clear.

Examples

"El problema quedó solo parcialmente resuelto."

Natural Translation

The problem was only partially solved.
