Usage Note

Parámetro is stressed on the second syllable (written accent on 'á'), not the third as English speakers tend to say it. In everyday Spanish it often appears in the plural — dentro de los parámetros normales means within normal parameters. It is used in both scientific and business contexts. Feminine equivalent does not exist; it is always masculine.
