Usage Note

Pálido describes a person's complexion or a washed-out colour. It agrees in gender and number: pálida, pálidos, pálidas. The accent on the first syllable marks it as an esdrújula (stress on the antepenultimate syllable). Ponerse pálido (to go pale) is the usual idiomatic phrase for sudden pallor from shock.
