Orientación covers spatial orientation (sentido de la orientación, sense of direction) as well as professional or personal guidance (orientación laboral, career guidance). Orientación sexual (sexual orientation) is the standard clinical and social term in Spanish. The verb is orientar; orientarse means 'to get one's bearings'.
