Nuclear is invariable for gender (energía nuclear, reactor nuclear) and its plural is nucleares. Beyond atomic energy, it is used in the phrase familia nuclear (nuclear family) and in biology for anything related to a cell nucleus. The stress falls on the final syllable, following the rule for words ending in a consonant other than -n/-s.
