Notificar is a formal verb used in legal, administrative, and digital contexts — you receive a notificación and someone notifica you. As a -car verb, the c becomes qu before -e, giving notifiqué (preterite yo) and notifique (present subjunctive). In everyday speech avisar or informar are more natural alternatives.
