Usage Note

Nitrógeno is the chemical element N, making up about 78% of Earth's atmosphere. It is always masculine in Spanish. Common compounds include nitrógeno líquido (liquid nitrogen) and óxido de nitrógeno (nitrous oxide). The adjective form is nitrogenado ('nitrogenous').
