Usage Note

Biológico covers biological in all its senses: scientific (proceso biológico), ecological (agricultura biológica = organic farming, especially in Spain), and familial (padre biológico = biological father). In Spain, biológico or bio on food labelling is equivalent to 'organic' (certified). In Latin America orgánico is more common for organic food.
