Naturalista is both the noun ('a naturalist') and the adjective ('naturalistic'). As a noun it is común (common gender): el naturalista / la naturalista. It refers to a scientist who studies natural history—plants, animals, geology—in the field tradition of figures like Darwin or Humboldt, and is distinct from ecologista (environmentalist activist).
