Usage Note
Mayormente is slightly formal and more common in Latin America than in Spain, where principalmente or sobre todo tend to be preferred. It modifies verbs, adjectives, or entire clauses and carries the sense of 'for the most part'. It is not interchangeable with mayoritariamente ('by a majority'), which implies a voting or numerical majority.
