Also means
to order (someone)
Usage Note
Mandar means both 'to send' (mandar una carta) and 'to order' or 'to be in charge' (aquí mando yo — I am the one in charge here). In Latin America mandar often replaces enviar for sending messages or objects; in Spain both are current. Mandar a alguien can also mean to send someone away, sometimes rudely.
Examples
"Te voy a mandar el documento por correo."

I am going to send you the document by email.
