Usage Note
Licenciada is the feminine form of licenciado, the title given to someone who has completed a licenciatura (a university degree, historically 4–6 years in Spain). It is used both as a noun and as a respectful form of address, similar to 'Dr.' for degree holders in some Latin American countries: Licenciada García. The degree system has partly shifted to the Bologna grado, but the title persists.
Examples
"La licenciada presentó su informe ante el comité."
Natural Translation
The graduate presented her report to the committee.
