Usage Note
Ionizante is a technical adjective derived from ionizar (to ionize) and is almost exclusively used in scientific or medical contexts — most commonly in radiación ionizante (ionizing radiation). It is an invariable adjective with respect to gender (same form for masculine and feminine) but agrees in number: radiaciones ionizantes.
