Usage Note

Intenso describes both physical intensity (calor intenso, intense heat) and emotional depth (mirada intensa, intense gaze). The adverb is intensamente and the noun intensidad (f). Be aware that in colloquial Spain Spanish, intenso used of a person can carry a negative connotation of being emotionally overwhelming or drama-prone.
