Usage Note

Inteligible describes speech, writing, or a signal that can be understood or decoded. Its opposite is ininteligible. Note that inteligible is a false friend for English speakers who might expect 'intelligent' — it means 'intelligible', not 'intelligent' (inteligente is the Spanish for 'intelligent').
