inalcanzable

unreachable, unattainable

adjective ee-nahl-kahn-SAH-bleh Rare

Usage Note

Inalcanzable combines the prefix in- (negation) with alcanzable (reachable), from alcanzar (to reach). It is invariable for gender ('un sueño inalcanzable', 'una meta inalcanzable') and its plural simply adds -s. It is stronger than difícil de alcanzar and implies true impossibility, not mere difficulty.

Examples

"Su sueño parece completamente inalcanzable."

Natural Translation

Her dream seems completely unattainable.
