Also means
implacable
Usage Note
Implacable is gender-invariant and means something — or someone — that cannot be appeased or stopped. The plural is implacables. Unlike despiadado ('merciless'), implacable emphasises inescapability rather than cruelty: the sun can be implacable, a deadline can be implacable. The related verb aplacar means 'to appease' or 'to calm'.
Examples
"El calor de agosto es implacable en el sur."
Natural Translation
The August heat is relentless in the south.
