imaginación
imagination
noun ee-mah-hee-nah-SYOHN Rare
Origin: From Latin imaginatio.
Usage Note
Imaginación is feminine and uncountable in most uses. The phrase ni en mi imaginación means 'not in my wildest dreams.' The verb is imaginar(se) — note that the reflexive imaginarse is more common in spoken Spanish: me imagino que sí ('I imagine so'). Imaginación should not be confused with imagen ('image'), though both share a Latin root.
Examples
"Los niños tienen una imaginación muy viva."
Natural Translation
Children have a very vivid imagination.
