Usage Note
Guerrero is the masculine form; the feminine is guerrera. Both can function as adjectives meaning 'warlike' or 'combative'. In everyday speech it can praise someone who fights hard against adversity, not just a literal soldier. Do not confuse with guerrillero ('guerrilla fighter').
Examples
"El guerrero defendió su aldea."
Natural Translation
The warrior defended his village.
