Grada primarily means a step or rung (in a staircase or harrow), and in the plural gradas it refers to the terraced steps or stands in a stadium or theatre. It should not be confused with grado (degree, grade), which is masculine. Las gradas of a stadium is the place where standing fans watch the match, and the word is commonly heard in sports broadcasts.
