Ganado is a collective noun referring to livestock or a herd, most commonly cattle (ganado vacuno) but also sheep (ganado ovino) or pigs (ganado porcino). It derives from ganar (to gain/earn) via the idea of acquired wealth. Do not confuse with the past participle ganado (won/earned) from ganar.
