frescura

freshness

noun frehs-KOO-rah Rare

Also means

cheek (impudence)

Usage Note

Frescura has two quite distinct uses: literal coolness/freshness (la frescura del agua) and colloquial impudence or cheek (¡qué frescura la suya!, what a nerve!). The second sense is very common in everyday speech in Spain and Latin America. The adjective fresco carries the same double meaning — frescales is a colloquial noun for a cheeky person.
