Usage Note
Farmacia refers to both the shop where medicines are dispensed and the academic discipline of pharmacy. In Spain and Latin America, a farmacia de guardia is a pharmacy open outside normal hours — look for the illuminated green cross. The person who works there is a farmacéutico or farmacéutica.
