fantástico
fantastic, wonderful
adjective fahn-TAHS-tee-koh Less Common
Origin: From Greek phantastikos ('able to present to the mind'), via Latin phantasticus.
Usage Note
Fantástico is used both as a genre descriptor (literatura fantástica — 'fantasy literature') and as an enthusiastic exclamation of approval — ¡Fantástico! ('Fantastic!/Great!'). The latter informal use is very common across all registers. The feminine is fantástica; the plural forms are fantásticos, fantásticas. Its meaning has weakened through overuse, similar to English 'fantastic.'
